Job Title: Associate
Location: Framingham, MA

Position Responsibilities:

Represent clients in all aspects of personal injury litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and mediations. Independently conduct trials through all the stages, including arguing motions in limine, preparing clients for chief and cross examinations, conducting chief examinations, cross examinations of defendants and experts, and opening and closing arguments. Independently argue motions, including motions for summary judgment, motions for sanctions and motions to dismiss. Appear as lead counsel in various motion hearings, including motions to dismiss and damage assessment hearings. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses and 30(b)(6) designees in personal injury lawsuits. Investigate and prepare demand packages, complaints, discovery, motions, and opposition briefs. Interview clients for initial intakes, examine extensive medical records and discuss settlement offers with clients. Negotiate with insurance claim adjusters and insurance counsel on behalf of plaintiffs in personal injury disputes. Research and evaluate key legal issues, such as liability in personal injury, medical malpractice and products liability cases and identify the best course of action for clients.

Required Skills & Experience:

Master of Laws (LL.M.) in American Law or Advanced Tort Law and 1 year of experience in the job offered or 1 year of experience in the related occupations of Attorney, Legal Intern, or equivalent. Prior experience must include 1 year of experience representing clients in various proceedings and managing all phases of litigation; as well as 1 year of experience with civil procedure rules and court filing requirements; 1 year of experience in negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and trial advocacy; 1 year of experience conducting comprehensive legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents; 1 year of experience with legal research, case management, and managing case files. License to practice law in the state of Massachusetts required.

RATE OF PAY: $99,840 – $100,000 per year
